The Ultimate Drain System

Synthetic turf has proven to be an excellent product for pet owners. Real grass is often difficult to grow in areas where it gets constant exposure to pet urine. The urine burns the grass and contaminates the soil, making it near impossible for new grass to grow. Although synthetic turf will stand up to the exposure of urine, over time an odor can develop if the urine gets trapped in the turf or infill. Easy to install, affordable, and effective, the “Ultimate Drain System” from Smart Turf effectively eliminates this problem. In addition, the “Ultimate Drain System” can be combined with Envirofill infill for additional protection (see Envirofill for details).

How Does The “Ultimate Drain System” Work?

The “Ultimate Drain System” from Smart Turf consists of a polymeric sheet molded under heat and pressure to form a high compressive strength, dimpled drainage core. Additional holes are punched in the core allowing liquids to flow through to ground surfaces below if necessary. The “Ultimate Drain System” creates an open air space-void which allows pet urine and other liquids to be washed down through the turf and infill. This process prevents pet urine from being held in the turf and causing odor. This void creates the perfect channel used to flush out the urine and wash down water directly to drains.

*Completely non-porous. Will not absorb any liquids or moisture.

*Due to its round shape, it will not pack down and compress, nor prevent moisture from passing through. Since the Envirofill will not compress, the surface will not become hard.

How Does Enrivofill With Microban Work?

Infused into Envirofill during the manufacturing process, Microban antimicrobial technology inhibits the growth of bacteria, mold, and mildew which can cause stains, odors, and product deterioration. On an unprotected surface, bacteria can double in number every 20 minutes. But when microbes come in contact with the Envirofill surface, Microban protection penetrates the cell wall of the microorganism and disrupts cell functions making the microorganism unable to function, grow, and reproduce. Microban antimicrobial technology works 24/7 for an added level of cleanliness protection. It will not wash or wear out and its antimicrobial protection works continuously to keep the Envirofill cleaner, longer. Envirofill is warranted for 16 years.
